{"id":3867,"date":"2018-08-23T10:42:09","date_gmt":"2018-08-23T10:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/?p=3867"},"modified":"2018-08-24T06:59:26","modified_gmt":"2018-08-24T06:59:26","slug":"office365-on-web","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/2018\/08\/23\/office365-on-web\/","title":{"rendered":"Office365 on web"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I started up my laptop and I found this message on all Office365 applications:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/2018\/08\/23\/office365-on-web\/download\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3870\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3870\" src=\"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/download.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"382\" height=\"132\" srcset=\"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/download.png 382w, http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/download-300x104.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 382px) 100vw, 382px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The operating system is not presently configured to run this application<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So apart of looking into Internet for a solution and open a ticket to the service I have started to use all these applications through the web and some from the mobile.<\/p>\n<h1>The issue and the solution<\/h1>\n<p>Apparently the applications are trying to open in safe mode and they are not allowed to run properly.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is to upgrade the Office365 from the web. A task that is taking hours.<\/p>\n<h1>The alternative, work on web + mobile alternatives<\/h1>\n<p>The Office365 upgrade blocks all the other activities of your computer, so this limits that you only can work with your browser.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I was fortunate as I had a chrome session opened and I can switch to it.<\/li>\n<li>I can open Outlook, SharePoint, excel online, word and one-drive.<\/li>\n<li>I cannot download files, but I found that this is something related to the block forced by the updated program.<\/li>\n<li>I cannot open Skype call on the web as it tries to open an emergent screen, and the\u00a0lock forced by the updated program.<\/li>\n<li>I had to reboot the computer and now the OS works well, I tried to install Office365 again but a message that there is another installation in process showed up. I continue waiting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Finnally, now it works again.<\/h1>\n<p>After 7 hours downloading and doing things on the background, a screen with the installation showed up.
