And I have the feeling the LLMs are the new version of Nuclear Power. I would summarize the current situation as this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"575\" src=\"https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-31-1024x575.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7417\" srcset=\"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-31-1024x575.png 1024w, http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-31-300x169.png 300w, http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-31-768x431.png 768w, http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-31.png 1278w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people is astonished about the potential of these technologies, but almost nobody is thinking about the consequences of it (few people).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I love technology, this one and many others, but sometimes you have to stop and look at things from another angle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Society is not only the competitive space. We live in a society and we have some other spaces: the social space and the public space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right now there&#8217;s a capability being discovered, a powerful one, and power without control is dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The disruption is such that new laws are written, for instance: <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/semantic-kernel\/howto\/schillacelaws\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Schillace Laws of Semantic AI<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To me the situation right now looks like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-32-1024x590.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7418\" srcset=\"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-32-1024x590.png 1024w, http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-32-300x173.png 300w, http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-32-768x442.png 768w, http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/image-32.png 1243w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Artificial Intelligence &amp; LLMs capabilities: new nuclear energy<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The components of the Wardley Map:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Companies<\/span><\/strong> working on LLMs and using it in an early stage where there are more questions than answers. What is clear is that LLMs are having a hype in terms of media, but few really understand what is happening.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Governments<\/span><\/strong> are not acting on this, basically the politicians move when the mainstream media shouts about something that the voters are asking for.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Citizens<\/span><\/strong> are just ignoring or astonished with LLMs and playing with it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The bad actor<\/strong><\/span>: the bad actor in an invisible user in a Wardley Map, but I have shown on purpose to do not forget that is there, and is willing to use this power for satisfying its needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrow (an attempt to alter the map) is on <strong>awareness<\/strong>, that right now I think is a need, at least I have that need. Don&#8217;t you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a petition that I have read and signed, this one: <a href=\"https:\/\/futureoflife.org\/open-letter\/pause-giant-ai-experiments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pause Giant AI Experiments: An Open Letter<\/a>. I invite you to at least read it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital sovereignty borders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We have to learn from history, and understand that forces have changed, but humans not at all.
