If you accumulate all these results and you order it, you will have a Gaussian bell. This bell will not be perfect, it will have different shapes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/2019\/11\/20\/negative-and-positive-skew-tendency\/skew\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4408\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4408\" src=\"http:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/skew.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/skew.jpg 640w, https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/skew-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/skew-500x284.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The trader with negative skew, will have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>high number of transactions are completed positively, with small amounts of profit.<\/li>\n<li>Few amount of transactions are completed in a negative way, but with high loses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The trader with positive skew, will have the opposite situation.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to understand the way you make decisions, the results they return and identify the pattern of behavior you have.<\/p>\n<p>Once done, you can identify the weaknesses of your behavior and then include some habits on your trades to be able to improve your trading in a systematic way.<\/p>\n<h1>I generally act as negative skew trader<\/h1>\n<p>For a negative skewed trader, there are ways to minimize the negative skew. The main ones are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use stop loss to cut the loses.<\/li>\n<li>Use stop loss to not directly sell a stock but protect the minimum margin while you let it grow and grow.<\/li>\n<li>Divide the longs in 2 moves, to decrease the average cost.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Other times I act as positive skew trader<\/h1>\n<p>And these times is when I use to manage better the capital that is involved in the trade.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the most interesting things that I read on Systematic trading by Robert Carver is the tendency that a trader can have when doing his transactions.
