At the moment of the publication of this post, we all are learning about the basis and how to use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two basic concepts that the reader should consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Estuarine Framework<\/span>: it&#8217;s the y and x axis diagram where energy and time are represented.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Estuarine Mapping<\/span>: it&#8217;s the framework where the process of mapping is explained to enable the mappers to get better understanding about how the reality works in a given context.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steps to work on Estuarine Mapping<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/thecynefin.co\/category\/estuarine-mapping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link<\/a> is interesting to follow-up all the publications around Estuarine mapping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Step 1<\/strong><\/span>: All start with the identification of good and bad things around the context we are exploring.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/lopezdeavila\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"834\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image-24.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7573\" style=\"width:417px;height:230px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image-24.png 834w, https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image-24-300x165.png 300w, https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/image-24-768x424.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 834px) 100vw, 834px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Step 2<\/strong><\/span>: Then the identification of constraints and constructors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">constraint<\/span><\/strong> is any factor that limits or restricts the range of possible actions or outcomes in a particular situation (physical, financial, organizational, regulatory, or cultural factors). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>constructor<\/strong><\/span> is a tool or technique that can help individuals or groups to understand which type of system they are dealing with and what approach is most appropriate (i.e.: &#8220;cause-and-effect&#8221; diagram). Constructors are not prescriptive or deterministic in nature. Rather, they help to create a shared understanding of a situation and provide a starting point for developing strategies and making decisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a template as the one below (to avoid classification and promote taxonomy identification). Use during the workshop, preferably using sense making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You identify if it&#8217;s a constraint or a constructor, and the inner characteristics of them. Send out lots of patrols see who doesn&#8217;t come back. So its an active form of weak signal detection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Article about Constructor Theory<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2079-8954\/10\/1\/7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Substrate-Independence Theory: Advancing Constructor Theory to Scaffold Substrate Attributes for the Recursive Interaction between Knowledge and Information<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Constructor theory defines a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CONSTRUCTOR<\/span><\/strong> as \u201canything that can cause transformations in physical systems without undergoing any net change in its ability to do so\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The focal point of constructor theory is the<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> construction <\/span><\/strong>(transformation) itself rather than the constructor or substrate. This is an essential concept because it focuses on potential constructions rather than the exact mechanisms that potentially cause transformations.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" src=\"https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-14-300x230.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7965\" srcset=\"https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-14-300x230.png 300w, https:\/\/joapen.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/image-14.png 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>While there are a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">variety of constructors<\/span><\/strong> (e.g., teamwork skill training, team coaching, practice) that could result in constructing (transforming) the substrate (team), the number of possible constructors is endless because teams vary in size, type, composition, and context. However, what is necessary is to focus on transforming organizational teams so that they are more effective in their interpersonal processes and taskwork activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Constructor theory also considers the constructor (input) and the substrate (output).
