There are people who are able to start all kind of Projects, offerings or ideas. This start usually comes with a great motivation.

After a while the responsibility assigned is delayed and you really don’t know the real reason. Finally you understand that these people really never finish anything.

What to do with them?

How to clarify a resource about responsibility in assigned tasks?

Delegation can be defined as assigning work, responsibilities and authority so others can make the maximum utilization of their abilities.

With it, often people understand what’s the meaning of “a task is assigned to a person” but sometimes other people don’t understand the meaning of responsibility and accountability.

That’s being a problem for me during these days , but I’m taking care about it with a proper communications plan with these people and my team leader.

Reach, new market!

Sorry about that, all my posts are around the same: Reach, the obsession that overflows my last weeks.

With this new regulation one of the things you have to do is create a complex dossier of information with 13 points of different features, tests and scenarios of use that defines a substance. To elaborate this dossier is not easy and neither is cheap.

When you register a substance you need to provide this dossier. Once this dossier is presented the ECHA will validate it. The interesting thing is that this dossier can be valid for you and for other companies that work with the same substance (in the same circumstances).

With it, a company can sell this dossier to other companies or a group of companies can share costs of the common substances. Other new markets! , consulting companies that help you to be Reach compliance, companies that sells you dossiers, new computer solutions for adapting corporate applications for elaborating the Reach reports…

Schedule Compresing

Once again I’m working in a Project Planning compressing the schedule due to a sponsor’s requirement about the end date.

I have defined the critical path and I have changed some ‘finish to start’ activities by ‘start to start’ activities (I assume the mistake).

Until then there is not a big problem.

In addition I’m using fast tracking technique, doing critical paths activities in parallel.

With this change I can reach the desired end date but the risks and the cost have been increased. Before to introduce it I need to plan a strategy about next steps 🙂
Next Week I have to introduce this new schedule planning.
