Finance director that is new in the role and the industry demands a way to gain good understanding of the details of the business with different departments of the company.

Purpose

Provide basic knowledge on Wardley Mapping:

  • How to read a map,
  • How to draw a map.
  • How to use to map to ask questions and discover operational details.

Results

An initial training course was provided to understand the basis: theory and basis of practice drawing.

Then a set of role play game was done using use cases on IT and procurement, with the purpose to get the understanding of the dynamics on the maps and gain perspective.

3 weekly follow-ups were done for answering questions.

The main benefit was the ramp-up of this new employee was accelerated and his lack of knowledge on the industry was not perceived.
