Year 8, Q1: Product Management

For this quarter my focus will be on product management stuff. I’m engaged on a product oriented initiative where I will be implementing many different things in the space of products and I want to catch up with respect the dynamics we have in terms of product development, roadmaps, .

The plan

So the V2MOM for this quarter will be:

  • Vision: Catch up with product management tools, processes and people.
  • Values: Learn while working.
  • Method:
    • Delivering product documents and artifacts,
    • Be appointed as product manager.
    • Engage with the portfolio organization and understand which SAFE processes are implemented.
    • Be more active with events around WMfB.
  • Obstacles:
    • Time and fatigue.
  • Measures:
    • Be appointed as product manager.
    • I should read 1 book.

  • Event: How Mapping helped me in building software products (corporate environment),
  • Event: How Are You Improving Your Strategy Knowledge and Experience?
  • Event: Mapping Opportunities: Navigating Headwinds and Tailwinds in Strategy.
  • Roadmap completed for the year.
  • Release plan for Q2 released.
  • Assigned as product manager for 1 of the tools to be build.
  • Acting as product manager for the overall portfolio of tools to be implemented.
  • Roster definition for the year.
  • Promotion of the Community of Practice to extend adoption of new practices.
